DIVERS, 2001 - 2005

This group of monochrome watercolors is based on stills from Leni Riefenstahl’s film Olympia, which documented the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin during National Socialism in Germany. The pieces metaphorically explore the tension between the utopian ideal of human perfection and superiority and the moral, physical, and spiritual compromise and distortion that may result from it.
