UNTITLED (HANDS), 2009
Untitled (hands) is a video installation for three small screens. Three hands go through an infinite process of opening and closing in slow motion, referencing the blossoming of plant life or, more generally, life cycles.
The piece exists suspended between photography and video, between a plant study in the tradition of Karl Blossfeld and a science time lapse video intended to show processes which are too slow for human perception.
The videos were shot on a high speed video camera from the MIT Edgerton Center in black and white.
