SCRATCHED PRINTS, 2016 to present
In the scratched prints, I explore layers of perception as I translate complex parts of ecosystems into images. I digitally composite close-up detail photographs and then isolate parts. The resulting large prints on bamboo paper are then further worked by scratching off pigment with knives. The scratched drawing reveals faint image layers beneath the surface.
